About
I'm Parth Maru, a software engineer with a background in backend development and an MSc in Advanced Computer Science from the University of Leicester.
My main interests are backend engineering, Python, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure and software engineering fundamentals. I enjoy understanding how systems work beneath the abstractions we normally use — whether that's application architecture, deployment, Linux, databases or the behaviour of a programming language.
Before moving to the UK, I worked in software engineering and production support in India. More recently, I've also worked in higher education, where I've built data-driven tools and automation to improve student monitoring and reporting.
What I'm working on
I'm currently strengthening my backend engineering skills with Python and FastAPI while exploring AWS, DevOps and system design.
I'm also revisiting some of my previous projects from a different perspective. Rather than simply rebuilding them with another framework, I want to understand the engineering decisions behind them more deeply.
This website is part of that process.
